A respected practitioner and health equity advocate, Dr. Sandra Hernández will share her perspectives on the importance of California’s leadership in putting policy into action—from its pursuit of universal coverage to the delivery of Whole Person Care.

She will highlight the steps California is taking to create shared accountability for progress on equity. She will also reflect on statewide efforts to tackle critical challenges like reducing Black maternal deaths, creating people-centered data systems, and making sure the health workforce can meet the needs of a diverse population.
