Ignatius Bau, JD (he/him) is a healthcare policy consultant for patient-consumer organizations, community-based health and social service organizations, community health centers, minority physician associations, public hospitals, health systems, and state health departments, with expertise in health disparities, demographic data, language access, cultural competency, health workforce diversity, and the social determinants of health. He has worked with racial/ethnic minority populations, immigrant/refugee populations, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender populations, and seniors; and on issues of HIV/AIDS, diabetes, and hepatitis B. His work is deeply influenced by his experiences as a family caregiver and patient advocate. He has worked at the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, California Endowment, Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum, and Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights; and has served on expert advisory panels for the Institute of Medicine, National Quality Forum, Joint Commission, federal Office of Minority Health, Office of National Coordinator for Health IT, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
