Dr. Rena Fox is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at UCSF since 2001. She is an internal medicine specialist who cares for patients with general health needs as well as those with viral hepatitis and MASLD. Dr. Fox conducts research on the use of non-invasive tests to help primary care providers better identify and risk-stratify patients with MASLD. She founded and directs the UCSF Hepatitis C Cure Initiative. She also runs the SFCAN Liver Cancer Task Force, aiming to reduce the incidence and mortality from liver cancer in San Francisco, working with academic and community partners.
