Dr. Bihu Sandhir is an Internal Medicine Physician and seasoned Physician Executive with more than 25 years of healthcare executive leadership experience in both Private and Community Health Systems. She specializes in designing and implementing strategic change in large Health Systems to provide value based care and bridge the gap between practicing providers and executive leadership . She completed her Internal Medicine training from University of Cincinnati, Ohio. She currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Blanchard Valley Health System in Ohio. Prior to this she was Chief Quality Officer at California’s largest FQHC System: AltaMed Health Services. With her Collaborative, Innovative and Empathetic Leadership style, Dr. Sandhir has a proven track record in leading medical teams in Population health management , developing Care Management and Care Model Redesign programs, Quality Innovation, establishing Governance structures and Electronic Health Record optimization. She has excelled at establishing and leveraging Health Plan partnerships to optimize quality pay for performance and incentive revenues. She has served as a member of many state and national committees such as; the State of California DMHC Quality and Health Equity Committee, Americans Physicians Group Clinical Quality Leadership Forum, Integrated Healthcare Organization-Technical Management Committee and LA Care: Quality and Health Equity committee. Dr. Sandhir frequently serves as a distinguished speaker in State and National forums sharing her innovative work on Quality transformation and Health Equity to help drive healthcare policy. She continues to provide care for complex diabetes patients where she has designed and implemented a successful population health model. She enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
