Bill Lakenan is a passionate leader focused on building better digital services more efficiently. Bill has 30 years of experience in various industries including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, media and, for the past 15 years healthcare quality. Bill has helped lead the implementation of multiple clinical quality measures engines at CMS, supporting more than a dozen quality programs. Currently, as the Director of Innovation at Bellese, Bill is focused on helping Bellese and CMS prepare for an improved future enabled by digital quality measurement. Bill is a passionate member of the FHIR® community, attending HL7 FHIR Connectathons for the past 4 years, hosting quarterly FHIR-focused dinners in the DC area and recently helping launch the FHIR Department, an online community for FHIR-passionate folks.

Bill holds a BS in Computer Science/Mathematics from Carnegie-Mellon University and has studied at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Bill is also a certified FHIR Foundational Implementer, AWS Cloud Practitioner and Scaled Agile Certified SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC).
