Dana Foglesong, MSW, LCSW, NCPS, CRPS, is a nationally recognized leader in peer support and recovery-oriented services. As the National Senior Director of Recovery and Resiliency Services for Magellan Health, she drives strategic initiatives to expand access to peer support and integrate recovery-focused approaches across managed care. 

Since joining Magellan in 2015, Dana has spearheaded transformative efforts to enhance peer support services. She first led in a Medicaid mental illness specialty plan in Florida, where she expanded billable peer support services and launched an innovative 1115 housing waiver pilot broadening access to housing support services. Today, she oversees a nationwide team of 35+ peer and family support specialists in both leadership and direct service roles, driving the integration of peer support and recovery-oriented approaches within the healthcare system. 

Beyond Magellan, Dana is a respected thought leader in the peer support movement. She played a pivotal role in developing the National Practice Guidelines for Peer Support Supervisors and advancing the proposed standard occupational classification for peer support specialists. She served in leadership at the National Association of Peer Supporters for five years and founded Florida’s statewide peer network. During her tenure at the Florida Department of Children and Families Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, she developed Florida’s practice and billing guidance on peer support services and initiated Florida’s Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care transformation. Her work has shaped federal and state policies, and she is a published author with research interests in peer-delivered and whole health approaches within integrated healthcare settings. 

A certified peer specialist since 2010 and nationally certified since 2017, Dana holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Central Florida and is a licensed clinical social worker.
