Josephine Granner, PhD, BSN-RN, is an Applied Research Scientist at NCQA, where she co-leads the Birth Equity Accountability through Measurement (BEAM) to develop reproductive health measures to promote health equity. Her research focuses on empowerment in reproductive health and community-based interventions. Dr. Granner earned her PhD from the University of Michigan School of Nursing and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine.

Before joining NCQA, she worked on contraception counseling programming, exploring the effects of trauma on pregnant and postpartum people, new fathers' behavioral health, and WIC breastfeeding peer counseling programs. At the VA, she led the implementation of Survivor Moms’ Companion, a program for pregnant and postpartum women affected by trauma. In health policy, she contributed to the Birthing-Friendly Hospital Designation with Yale CORE and worked on perinatal value-based payment models at CMMI.
