Billie is a dedicated professional committed to the idea that Women deserve the very best care, which she believes can only be achieved through a holistic approach that is dedicated to coaching, educating, and advocating for her patients and soon to be mothers.
Billie started her career in 1988 as a Registered Nurse Graduating from the University Of Maryland School Of Nursing. She enjoyed the role of nurse but became more active in patient care as a Certified Physician Assistant with a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1993. It was in the performance of her work as a PA that she became keenly aware of the health care discrepancies found in the care of women, it was the illumination of that fact that lead her to earn a Post Graduate Certificate in Midwifery in 2002. In 2004 she went on to earn a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.
Billie has welcomed over 1500 babies into the world, and feels absolutely grateful that she is able to provide a holistic, family centered midwifery care, which she has envisioned. Billie is a dedicated health care professional, which is established by her determination to educate herself and find innovative ways to serve woman through Midwifery and supporting them through their daily well being.
Billie is currently the Director of Midwifery Services and Mobile Health at the University of Maryland Capital Region Health supporting women’s health through their outpatient women’s clinical offices as well as the full scope Midwifery services at UM Capital Region. Billie’s is especially proud of the mobile health services provided by her service line in which Women’s health care is donated to the underserved and underinsured population of Maryland and DC.
