Measure what you Treasure: Birth Equity Accountability through Measurement
Description

If you could pick any health concept to measure to promote birthing health and health equity, what would it be? Join us to explore how the NCQA Birth Equity Accountability through Measurement (BEAM) team selected eight top-priority measure concepts to promote birthing health and health equity across the domains of physical health, behavioral health, optimal care, equitable care, and accessible, timely, and coordinated care. This session will delve into our measure prioritization process grounded in stakeholder engagement, scientific literature and clinical guidelines, and our birth equity measurement framework. Discover our process for developing these 8 concepts into full measures (for HEDIS and more), in partnership with a learning network. Our learning network partners include health plans/payers, policy and community-based organizations, and healthcare delivery settings diverse by role/organization type, geographic location, clinical data systems, digital maturity, and size and characteristics of the communities they serve. Unpack how these measures aim to create a more accountable and equitable maternal health care system, ultimately improving birthing outcomes for marginalized communities.
