Laura Carr, PharmD, MBA is the Senior Director of Provider Performance at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA where she builds collaborative payer/provider relationships that drive performance improvement within value-based care contracts. Leading the provider engagement team, she spearheads the development of data-driven solutions that enhance quality, patient experience, and clinical outcomes, while effectively reducing healthcare costs. Dr. Carr also oversees BCBSMA’s innovative equity learning collaborative and incentive measures that guide providers in implementing interventions that foster sustainable improvements in health equity across Massachusetts.
Prior to her role at BCBSMA, Dr. Carr made significant contributions at Mass General Brigham, where she directed care redesign and clinical integration initiatives. Her expertise in quality, transitions of care services, medication reconciliation, patient safety and provider performance initiatives positioned her as a thought leader in population health. Dr. Carr's impactful work extends to publications in the British Medical Journal and engaging presentations on diverse healthcare topics at regional and national levels including improving population health, shared decision making, data driven decision making to improve outcomes. A Doctor of Pharmacy with an MBA in Healthcare Management, she has completed executive leadership training at Bentley University and Advancing Health Equity Through Leadership in Healthcare Management at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, reflecting her dedication to excellence in healthcare leadership.
