Poonam Bal currently leads measure development and implementation at the American Board of Family Medicine, advancing quality improvement in primary care through stakeholder collaboration and evidence-based measurement. She brings over a decade of experience from the National Quality Forum (NQF), where she led initiatives in measurement science, best practices for improving healthcare, the development and evaluation of quality measures, and the selection of measures for federal programs.
Her leadership extends beyond project management—she has played a pivotal role in recruitment, training, process improvement, and strategic planning, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Poonam holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Human Resources from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Science in Health Systems Administration from Georgetown University. She also holds a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, underscoring her commitment to operational excellence and delivering impactful results.
