Brian Hart is the Chief Executive Officer of Compass Management & Consulting, Inc., and Executive Director of the National Lipid Association. Brian joined Compass and the National Lipid Association in 2010 after completing law school. Brian is also the Executive Director of the Foundation of the National Lipid Association, American Board of Clinical Lipidology, and is licensed to practice law in Florida.

Brian focuses on organizational oversight and management, strategic direction, advocacy, policy,, and compliance components of non-profit business operations. In his capacity as Executive Director of the National Lipid Association, Brian leads the NLA’s efforts to improve implementation of clinical guidelines and guidance statements through simplification, continuing education, tool development, and quality improvement. Brian has contributed to numerous NLA publications, including those on simplifying measurement and management of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and improving guideline compliance through improved quality measurement, published in the Journal of Clinical Lipidology.

Brian is currently leading the National Lipid Association’s efforts to improve measurement and management of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol at the population level through improved quality measurement, hosting a monthly LDL-C quality measure roundtable gathering of interested association and industry leaders, and leading efforts to improve existing quality measures with the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Brian volunteers as an advisor to the Northeast Florida Flag Football Foundation, a charitable organization that provides scholarships to support youth in Northeast Florida by improving access to the benefits of competitive team sports.
