With the transition to Electronic Clinical Data Systems (ECDS), health plans can incorporate valuable sources of clinical data into existing HEDIS® processes, resulting in more accurate and complete quality measurement. In this session, experts from Cambia Health Solutions and Abacus Insights share how they worked together to supplement Cambia’s HEDIS program with additional clinical data from EMR systems, health information exchanges (HIEs), and lab results. Rather than replacing its HEDIS approach, or adding substantial new supplemental data sources, Cambia focused on enhancing preparation of existing data sources, to better support prospective and regulatory HEDIS submissions that meet NCQA standards. This resulted in less effort and more value from existing data sources. Speakers will discuss how streamlining data ingestion from multiple sources helped accelerate time to insights, reduce manual data wrangling, and improve readiness for quality reporting and improvement.
