With the transition to Electronic Clinical Data Systems (ECDS), health plans can incorporate valuable sources of clinical data into existing HEDIS® processes, resulting in more accurate and complete quality measurement.  

In this session, experts from Cambia Health Solutions and Abacus Insights share how they worked together to supplement Cambia’s HEDIS program with additional clinical data from EMR systems, health information exchanges (HIEs) and lab results. Rather than replacing its HEDIS approach or adding substantial new supplemental data sources, Cambia focused on improving the preparation of existing data sources to better support prospective and regulatory HEDIS submissions that meet NCQA standards. This led to reduced effort and increased value derived from existing data sources.  

Speakers will discuss how streamlining data ingestion from multiple sources helped accelerate time to insights, reduce manual data wrangling and enhance readiness for quality reporting and improvement. This session highlights real-world implementation lessons, including challenges and practical strategies, that attendees can apply in their own HEDIS programs.
