Description

MASLD is the hepatic manifestation of metabolic dysfunction and commonly coexists with obesity, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hypertension, reflecting the central role of the liver in metabolic regulation and cardiometabolic health. In this 20-minute didactic session, learn why early MASLD identification is a financial and clinical imperative for stakeholders.

  • We will examine the stark reality that MASLD affects nearly 70% of patients with type 2 diabetes and heavily drives up risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), heart failure, and chronic kidney disease. FIB-4 is recommended as a first-line clinical decision aid to identify patients at risk for advanced fibrosis and guide further evaluation, while other NITs (non-invasive tests) may be more appropriate in some patient groups.
  • Attendees will explore how to build scalable EHR risk-stratification pathways to match high-risk patients with breakthrough, FDA-approved medical interventions before advanced liver damage occurs.
