Jennifer Escamilla is a licensed professional counselor with a specialization in working with children and adolescents and a strong focus on substance use treatment. She currently serves as Senior Director of Enterprise Quality and Accreditation at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), where she oversees quality improvement and accreditation activities across Group, Retail, Medicaid, and Medicare lines of business.
Jennifer is a passionate advocate for mental health and holistic, person-centered care, with a deep commitment to advancing quality improvement across the healthcare continuum. She has led the development of several behavioral health programs designed to support members’ ability to remain engaged in their communities and to expand equitable access to mental health services.
Prior to joining HCSC, Jennifer worked as a mental health therapist in both a psychiatric hospital and a partial hospitalization program, with a primary focus on children ages 5–12. Over the past 20 years, she has worked across a wide range of behavioral health treatment settings, bringing a clinician’s perspective to enterprise-level quality and accreditation leadership.
Jennifer is actively engaged in her community and has volunteered with Network of Community Ministries during the holiday season for several years. She has also partnered with organizations such as KABOOM! and REAL School Gardens, helping to build playgrounds and school gardens for underserved children and communities.
Jennifer is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Wesleyan University. She earned her master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University. She graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, watching sports, and traveling.
