Helen Dao, DrPH, MHA, is the President and CEO of Dao Consulting Services, Inc., a New Jersey–based healthcare consulting firm specializing in clinical compliance, quality improvement, healthcare risk management, and system-level performance transformation. With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and public health, Dr. Dao has provided strategic advisory and implementation support to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), FQHC Look-Alikes, community health centers, nonprofit organizations, and public health initiatives across the United States and internationally.
Dr. Dao is widely recognized for her expertise in regulatory compliance, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) implementation, clinical workflow optimization, and enterprise-level quality and risk management. Her work focuses on helping healthcare organizations improve access to care, strengthen care coordination, enhance clinical outcomes, and meet complex federal and state requirements while maintaining patient safety, ethical standards, and operational sustainability. She has led and supported initiatives related to HRSA compliance, performance improvement planning, quality assurance programs, and multidisciplinary team-based care models.
In addition to her consulting practice, Dr. Dao serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member at New York Medical College and as Clinical Faculty at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she contributes to the education of future public health professionals and physicians by integrating principles of quality transformation, patient-centered care, and population health into clinical training.
Dr. Dao is an author and experienced speaker who has delivered presentations and trainings to professional and academic audiences nationally and internationally, including Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University in Lima, Peru. Her speaking and writing focus on healthcare quality, leadership, public health strategy, and system improvement. She is also a dedicated advocate for raising awareness and fostering healing related to childhood sexual abuse, drawing on her public health expertise to promote informed dialogue and trauma-informed approaches through select writing and speaking engagements.
Dr. Dao holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) and a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA). She is a member of Toastmasters International and the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ). Through her consulting, teaching, writing, and speaking, Dr. Dao remains committed to advancing excellence, accountability, and innovation in healthcare delivery and public health systems.
