Michael Albornoz is a Director of Clinical Quality Analytics with Blue Shield of CA. In his role, he oversees the production of HEDIS, CAHPS, State Reporting and internal Quality reporting measurements including Digital Measures. He has been a certified HEDIS auditor since 2007 and achieved NCQA certification as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) content expert in 2013. He has served as lead auditor for several audit engagements of Medicare, Commercial, Medicaid and Marketplace populations reporting HEDIS data. Michael was responsible for all facets of the HHS RADV IVA, Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and PCMH audit and consulting programs for a national audit firm. Since 2021, Michael has participated as a validator for the NCQA Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) program. Michael has extensive experience working for health plans and has managed teams in quality informatics, HEDIS operations and Risk Adjustment.

Michael holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular cell biology and psychology from UC Berkeley.
