Lenise Cummings-Vaughn is a geriatric medicine physician that joined CMS in February 2024 as a Medical Officer in CCSQ. She provides advisory and consultative expertise in post-acute care and other relevant areas. She has provided care for and pursued scholarly work regarding older adults in the outpatient, inpatient, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and long-term care settings, most recently as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics and Nutritional Sciences, at Washington University in Saint Louis, medical director for an all-dementia nursing facility, clinician in the Memory and Aging Project at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and Medical Director for the hospital’s readmission prevention program. She has also been a faculty member, steering committee member, advisory board member, and board member for various organizations regarding dementia and Age-Friendly care.
