Description

How can health care organizations move from fragmented data and analysis overload to a consistent, evidence-based, actionable approach for identifying and addressing health disparities? This session will debut the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's (IHI) newly released four-step framework for health equity measurement, developed in partnership with the IHI Health Equity Accelerator. Presenters will describe the national consensus process that led to the final recommendations, explore insights from the accompanying white paper, and walk through real-world applications of the framework in practice.

The session will also feature interactive audience engagement to surface common barriers and opportunities in applying the methodology across diverse health-care settings (systems, plans, vendors, etc.). Join us to learn how this new tool can strengthen accountability, accelerate improvement, and make health equity a measurable outcome.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the development and intent of IHI’s new equity measurement framework.
  • Identify how the key steps and practical applications outlined in the white paper can inform how you approach disparities evaluation in your organization.
  • Engage with peers to identify barriers and co-create solutions for applying the methodology in real-world settings.
