Alice Pressman (she/her), PhD, MS, is Senior Advisor for Student Mentorship at the Kaiser Permanente (KP) Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, and Professor in the Health Systems Science Department. She is also a senior researcher with the KP Redwood City transgender care program, and she serves as co-chair for the World Professional Association for Transgender Health research committee. Prior to joining Kaiser, Alice served as Executive Director for the Sutter Health Center for Health Systems Research, and Scientific Research Director for the Sutter Health Institute Advancing Health Equity. She is an adjunct faculty member in the University of California, San Francisco Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, where she has taught clinical research for several years. For the past 35 years, she has served as a research scientist and biostatistician for numerous clinical and epidemiologic research studies in diverse settings including academia, community-based research institutes, and non-profit healthcare systems. She is an epidemiologist and biostatistician by training, specializing in evaluation methodology, clinical trials methods, health equity and disparities, health systems evaluation, and clinical research on chronic pain and integrative therapies. Her work has been funded by NIH, PCORI, and several foundations and industry organizations.
