Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease, present a complex and often fragmented care journey—one that places significant burden not only on patients, but on providers and health systems striving to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. This interactive panel discussion will explore approaches to improving the quality of IBD care through the lens of patient journey and highlight opportunities for quality improvement to achieve better patient outcomes and quality of life. Leaders from patient advocacy organizations and professional societies will discuss strategies to advance quality across care settings.
Panelists will share perspective and approaches to advancing quality—including scalable toolkits, collaborative initiatives and efforts to move beyond measurement alone toward building sustainable “cultures of quality” in care delivery. The panel will also discuss how organizations can support clinicians and translate guidelines into practice using practical resources and promote meaningful improvement without adding unnecessary complexity.
Attendees will gain insight into the challenges in IBD care, how patient experiences can inform quality improvement efforts, and how organizations are working together to support implementation of practical approaches to improve outcomes and quality of life for individual living with IBD
